The best acts that Grantham can offer will be on stage to perform for the Mayor’s Charity Variety Show on February 8.

Among the entertainers featured will be veteran rocker Vince Eager, Terry Carey and Trevor Leeson. Other acts will include Lee Robbins, singer/comedienne AJ, The Grantham School of Dance and rock covers band Imogen Gray.

Eager was born in Grantham and made a name for himself in Vince Eager and the Vagabonds and was a regular on BBC TV’s music show Drumbeat in the late ‘50s. He later toured the cabaret circuit and in the ’70s he starred in the West End musical Elvis.

Another Grantham musician, Leeson started out his career in 1958, as a member of skiffle band The Rebels.

This year’s mayor’s charities are St Wulfram’s Spire Appeal, Grantham Museum and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Tickets are priced at £10, available from the Guildhall Arts Centre on 01476 406158 or go to
