Grantham Dramatic Society will be the first group to perform the West End hit, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ in the East Midlands – with the regional premiere taking place at the Guildhall on May 11 to 14.
Regarded as ‘the funniest show on the planet’, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ has been a huge hit in the West End, on tour and on Broadway, with James Corden starring in the lead role.
This show is brand new to amateur theatre, and is packed with verbal wit, physical comedy and a touch of music.
It is set in Brighton, during 1963, in the fringes of gangland. Recently fired from his skiffle band and desperate for a square meal, Francis Henshall has taken on two jobs, for two guvnors. Throw a murder, disguises, decrepit waiters and false names into the mix and Francis has his hands full. Can he keep his two bosses happy and, more importantly, away from each other?
Grantham Dramatic Society is thrilled to be performing this hit show at the Guildhall, stating: “It’s a great privilege to be able to bring this show to Grantham, fresh from the West End!”
