The thrills and spills of the circus are coming to Grantham’s Wyndham Park next week.
Family-run Planet Circus are bringing their spectacular new 2014 show, featuring acts that vary from the death defying to the hilarious in a thrilling two-hour extravaganza.
And among the top attractions will be the Globe of Death, with an amazing motorcycle stunt team that includes 14-year-old Peter Pavlov, Europe’s youngest stunt rider.
Peter appeared on Britain’s Got Talent this year with the Globe of Death, riding around a metal dome at break-neck speeds with other bikers while his sister stood in the middle. They were given four ‘yes’ votes by judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the show. He also appeared in a TV programme ‘My Life’ in March of this year.
Peter, who was born into the circus life, first got to grips with motorbikes at the age of six and a year later he was in the ring.
He said: “My family have been part of the circus for generations. It was only natural I’d end up performing too.
“My friend first got me interested in the bikes. I had my first try at six then my dad bought me my own bike for my birthday, and I’ve been performing since I was seven.”
Peter says he enjoys travelling across the UK with the circus.
He said: “I can’t imagine doing anything other than performing with the circus. It’s in my blood and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.”
Peter’s 18-year-old sister Emilia is another of the entertainers with her aerial act.
You can see the teenage daredevils and the rest of the Planet Circus entertainers at Wyndham Park from Wednesday until Sunday, October 26.
